Prior to setting up sister care limited, I have many years experience working within the health care industry. Working within various healthcare environments including nursing care homes, dementia care homes, community care, home care, hospital care and care management.
I bring a lot of knowledge, skills and understanding to Sistacare through continuous training. I am extremely organised, very sociable and approachable. Alongside work commitments, i have many hobbies and interests including reading, cycling, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
Within my spare time I enjoy days out with my grandson, walking my three dogs and spending quality time with my husband.
My journey in care started when I was 16 during the school holidays where I got a little job in a local care home, which is where my whole career intentions changed - I found my place in life.
I loved helping people, I loved making people happy and I loved making a difference to a persons day.
For the next 10 years I continued to work in care whilst having 3 of my 4 children. I gradually climbed the ladder at a steady pace where I had this time required to be a mum also.
Then after the birth of my fourth child and seeing her into school, I put all my time and effort into my career. I went from a senior care assistant to an area manager within 7 years, gaining valuable experience along the way.
During the last 2 years and our current situation living within a pandemic, it has become apparent how much strain is on the health and social care sector and is the reason I am writing this today.
Now is the time I feel that I can really make a difference at a time that people need it the most. I want to use my personal values and visions to help and support people in the way that will make a change.
